More boiled eggs

We crossed into the Arctic Circle early yesterday morning.  The weather has been colder and overcast ever since, but the scenery is no less spectacular.  Lots of snow on the ground, and some falling this morning.

The ship took a detour into the Trollfjord last night, which was pretty spectacular, even if a bit scary, given that the fjord is only 100 metres wide at its narrowest point.  This ship can turn on a dime though.

We are just about to dock in Tromsø, known as the 'Paris of the North', although so far the likeness to Paris is eluding me (in much the same way that Adelaide's likeness to Athens must escape anyone who has actually been Greece).

We are enjoying the Hurtigruten ferry so much, we have decided to stay another two nights on board and sail the whole way to Kirkenes (end point of trip in northern Norway near the Russian border).

Through the miracle of the internet, I have rejigged our itinerary and booked us on flights from Kirkenes to Oslo on Wednesday evening, then two nights in Oslo, then flights to Berlin instead of another ferry.

PS. Sorry no pictures for a while ... the ship's internet bandwidth is pretty narrow and won't allow me to post pictures.  Some coming soon when we have more bandwidth.
